A Journey Of Quietness, Visualization, And Declaration

Welcome to Day 3 of our 21-day exploration into the power of meditation! As we move closer to the Let There Be Light Conference on September 7th, let’s continue deepening our understanding and practice of Christian meditation.

The Three Stages of Meditation:

Meditation involves three key stages:

  1. Quietness – Calming the noise in your mind to achieve stillness.

  2. Visualization – Using your imagination to create or behold a picture, often inspired by Scripture.

  3. Declaration – Speaking words of life, including Scriptures, Rhema, or positive affirmations.

Each stage builds upon the last, helping you connect with God’s presence and align your spirit with His will.

Overcoming challenges in meditation.

  1. Sleeping During Meditation

Falling asleep during meditation isn’t a failure—it simply means your mind has reached a deep state of quietness. However, if your goal is to stay conscious, try speaking out loud during meditation. Your words keep your mind engaged and prevent it from drifting into sleep.

  2. Difficulty Visualizing

Visualization can be challenging, especially for those with underdeveloped imagination. Start with guided meditation sessions like the Hour Of Meditation (HoM), where I help paint vivid pictures based on Scripture. Over time, you’ll strengthen your ability to create and hold images in your mind.

  3. Meditating Under Stress

Stress can make meditation seem daunting, but it’s one of the best times to meditate. HoM sessions are especially effective in helping you release tension and find peace. Remember, while meditation can alleviate stress, addressing the root causes of stress may also require practical life adjustments.

Practical tips for deepening your meditation.

  1. Speak to Stay Focused: When meditating, periodically speak out your thoughts or declarations to maintain awareness.

  2. Use Scripture to Guide Visualization: For example, meditate on Psalm 102:13—imagine God arising to show you favor.

  3. Let Go of Perfection: Meditation is about journeying with God. Trust the process, even if your thoughts wander or you don’t immediately experience profound insights.

Meditation as a lifestyle.

Christian meditation is not just a spiritual exercise; it’s a lifestyle. Joshua 1:8 reminds us to meditate on the Word day and night. The more you integrate meditation into your daily life, the more natural and transformative it becomes.

Join the movement.

The Let There Be Light Conference at Peniel will be a landmark event, bringing thousands together to meditate as one body in Christ. Let’s take meditation back and make it a cornerstone of our spiritual growth.

Until tomorrow, remember: meditate, visualize, declare, and share this gift with others. Together, we’re making meditation cool again!

Peace In!
