Declaring As Commanded!
Welcome to Day 19 of our journey toward the Let There Be Light Conference. Today’s message centers on a profound principle: the power of declaring as commanded. Just as Ezekiel prophesied to the dry bones exactly as God instructed, our declarations gain their greatest strength when we repeat what the Spirit of God or spiritual authority has given us to say.
Declarations as divine passwords.
Ezekiel 37:7 says, “So I prophesied as I was commanded.” This obedience brought dry bones back to life. Words given by the Spirit of God carry the weight of heaven. They are like divine passwords—specific, precise, and powerful. Adding personal creativity to these words can dilute their impact.
Imagine receiving a password to a bank account. Would you modify it out of preference or curiosity? Of course not! The same applies to spiritual declarations. When God or a trusted authority gives you words to declare, follow them exactly.
The principle of leaning in.
To declare effectively, you must first hear accurately. Jesus modeled this in John 5:19, where He said, “The Son can do nothing by Himself; He can do only what He sees His Father doing.” Similarly, when we listen carefully to God and repeat His words, we access divine power.
Steps to declaring as commanded:
Wait on the Lord
Spend time in God’s presence to hear His Word for your situation. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that “those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength.” As you wait, listen for the specific words God wants you to speak.Follow Without Altering
Resist the urge to embellish or modify the Word you receive. Even when the command seems simple, its power lies in obedience. When Jesus sent His disciples to declare peace upon entering a house (Luke 10:5), He instructed them to say, “Peace to this house.” Not “peace, love, and joy,” but exactly as He commanded.Speak with Faith
Declarations carry power when they are spoken with conviction. Trust that what you’re declaring aligns with God’s will and will accomplish His purpose.
Learning through observation.
One of the secrets to growing in this practice is to observe how spiritual authorities pray and declare. As I shared during today’s session, listening to how they address God and the enemy can teach you how to align your own speech with spiritual authority.
For example:
Speaking to God: Notice how leaders express faith and submission in prayer.
Speaking to the Enemy: Pay attention to the authority and confidence they use in commanding darkness to flee.
A story of authority in action.
I shared an account of Smith Wigglesworth, a renowned minister who encountered a demonic presence in his home. Without fear or dramatics, he simply acknowledged the entity and returned to bed, declaring his authority over it. This kind of faith comes from understanding your spiritual position and speaking with boldness.
Go and speak.
Declarations are not reserved for special moments; they are a daily practice. Whether it’s declaring healing over your body, peace over your family, or favor in your workplace, speak as commanded by God or through trusted spiritual authority.
An invitation to declare together!
The Let There Be Light Conference on September 7, 2024, will be an extraordinary opportunity to practice this principle. Together, we’ll declare God’s promises and witness His power in a historic gathering.
Let’s commit to speaking only what God commands, trusting that His words through our mouths carry the power to change lives. Obedience in declarations is not just a practice—it’s a partnership with heaven.
Peace In!
